Partnership Programme
Introduction
After a successful pilot in 2005, ICDI introduces the Partnership Program. It is a new service for child and youth oriented international development organizations and local NGOs and aims to strengthen the capacity of staff in transitional and developing countries. The Partnership Program provides professional coaching of development workers in the fields of education and children and youth care from transitional and developing countries. Each visit delivers a concrete outcome, in the form of a project proposal, a policy or research paper, an outline of a training module, or a set of resource materials. For each partner a tailor-made program is designed and implemented with many face-to-face sessions at ICDI. The visitor can rely on our commitment as well as on our extensive networks in the Netherlands and abroad. On request, ICDI arranges meetings with specialists and organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium and provides training workshops.

Lenko Lenkov, Free and Democratic Bulgaria Foundation: The ICDI Partnership Program was an inspiring and rewarding experience for me. It opened new horizons of thinking and helped me develop innovative ideas and shape a project for the benefit of the children in Blagoevgrad region in Bulgaria. Go for it!

Suzana Kirandziska, Step by Step, Macedonia: It was an unique opportunity to expand my knowledge in the field of preschool education, to get to know the system in Netherlands, to meet colleagues form the Low Countries, to talk to policy makers from the European Commission who work with Macedonia on social issues … and all this while collaborating directly with ICDI staff on two new project proposals.
Partnership Programme at a glance
ICDI offers a tailor made capacity building program away from the day-to-day pressure and routine. It is:
- Effective: delivers concrete, demand-driven products such as project proposals, policy or research papers, training module outlines or resource materials.
- Efficient: offers cost saving possibilities for outsourcing of capacity building and training of INGOs to a reliable organization with an extensive network and well qualified staff.
- Enriching: expands the network of the visiting partner, enabling him or her to work more independently on project/program development.
- Relaxed: ICDI is responsible for logistical arrangements and day-to-day support during the stay in the Netherlands.
We could host one colleague or a small group of associates at a time for a period of up to three weeks. During their stay, the partner(s) can make full use of the working facilities at our office. ICDI is flexible and ready to consider other venues of conducting the program.
