We welcome Yvonne Caprino to our Fellowship Programme
10-07-2006 It is our pleasure to welcome Yvonne Caprino from Surinam in the capacity of ‘Plan Nederland Distinguished Visiting Fellow’. SHe arrived in the beginning of July and will stay three months. Yvonne Caprino main interests and skills are in children’s and youth issues. Her expertise lies at the intersection of policy formulation, intervention, programme development, advocacy, and NGO capacity building. She has access to high-quality networks in the Suriname, the Caribbean region and the Netherlands. She is currently director of Stichting Projecten PCOS. PCOS is one of the leading NGOS in the country working with and behalf of socially excluded children and youth. Yvonne comes as part of our fellowship programme. This programme offers fellowships that are awarded to practitioners or researchers, usually from developing/transitional countries, known for their innovative work in the field of Children/Youth and Development. The Fellows who will be based at ISS, The Hague and/or at ICDI Leiden (the founding organisations of iCCYS), are offered an opportunity to reflect, refresh, write, make contacts and prepare new initiatives for the future while providing occasional seminars in the host, sponsor and other institutions in the Netherlands. The fellowships will thus provide benefits to both sides through the exchange of experiences, ideas and future plans.
