Non-punitive approaches towards children; ICDI training in Kenya
05-10-2010
The training resulted in very dynamic training sessions where everyone participating learned a lot about the reality of Kenya and the challenges to achieve a learning environment without physical and psychological punishment and tackle Violence Against Children at home, school and community level. Defining the difference between punishment and teaching children self-discipline means going into the rights, needs and development of children, apply positive and solution-focused communication skills with the attitude to respect, support and protect children.

The concrete outcome of these trainings is that stakeholders in both Nairobi and Kwale will implement the training by organizing stakeholder meetings and train others in Non-punitive approaches.
