Child Rights in Peru
Child Rights in Peru 24-11-2011
Guillermo Contreras (26) Comes from Cusco, Peru. Guillermo believes that games and sports events can teach young people basic values like respect and non violence. Through his “street soccer with street-working children” project he organized a series of sports events for and with street children. Each participants not only participated in the games, but followed a special training on child rights. Here sports was used as a metaphor for their rights. Participants even signed a contact in which they agreed to certain norms and values, such as respect, equality between girls and boys and participation.
