Child Rights in Palestine
Child Rights in Palestine 24-11-2011
Wala’ Qaisieh  (23) believes that children have the right to speak up against injustice and violence. Her project aimed at teaching and educating the children of the old city in Hebron- south of Palestine- how to use photography and film making as a means for advocacy and exposing the injustices committed against Palestinians living in H2. (The part of the city that is controlled by the Israeli army with 40,000 Palestinians and 500 Israeli settlers). In total 15 children between the age of 12-16 participated in trainings on child rights and learned to use video, audio and photography to portrait the lives of children growing up in Hebron. Sadly, due to studies, Wala had to leave the project prematurely but we are happy that her Ms Zainab Shammas (23)  managed to complete the project.  Please see the Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz7jRRTLfiI to see some of the works by the children.

Wala’ was supported in her project by IPLY from Palestine.
