Mathijs (20-04-1968) is a child psychologist with more than fiftheen years programme management experience in the Dutch and international context. He has worked in psychosocial and peace building projects for refugees and war-affected children in Holland, and diverse places like Kosovo, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Bosnia, Chechnya, Israel/Palestine, Eritrea, Cyprus, and Georgia. Besides programme management, he has vast experience in capacity building of local partner organizations, conducting training (in, amongst others, child development and life skills), doing action research (e.g. needs assessments & evaluations), and developing policy advice. Mathijs' specific areas of interest is: psychosocial programming for war-affected children. Since 1 September 2007 Mathijs is director of ICDI.
