Iordan Iossifov (Senior Programme Manager)
Iordan Iossifov (17-12-1972) is a senior programme manager at ICDI. His academic background is in law and social science and he has worked with the European Commission and the University of Amsterdam. Iordan’s responsibilities are concentrated on ICDI’s activities in transitional countries in Eastern Europe. His recent assignments include: a policy advisory mission to the Government of Georgia on incorporating the guidelines of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into the Georgian legislation; a policy advice to the Ministry of National Education of Turkey on access and improvement of the quality of pre-school education; capacity building of the Ministry of Child and Family Affairs of Latvia on implementation of new strategies for caring for children deprived form parental care, and an action research on newly emerging needs of children and youth in Bulgaria. Iordan’s primary focus is on capacity building, research, training, and policy evaluation and advice in the field of child protection and youth welfare. He has also written several publications on these issues
